Planning Permission for the Reserved Matters Application at the urban extension in North Bexhill, known as The Gateway, has been granted.
The application, developed for our client Vistry Group, includes 447 dwellings and a ‘community heart’ which features a sports pavilion, sports pitches, community building, retail, and areas of public open space.
Working alongside the client, design team and local authority; Rother District Council, we have ensured that the vision for the project has been captured and driven through layout, design and detail in the application.Five main character areas have been created - High Point, Gateway Street, Valley Edge, Woodland Edge and Countryside Edge – all which reflect the existing typologies of the site and defines the new neighbourhoods being created.
The entrance to the site has been carefully considered and designed to provide heightened visibility, featuring a distinct yet complementary design and material selection. The planned 'Community Heating Hub' will provide the power and heat for the homes. We previously wrote about this in our Future Homes Article which can be seen here -> Future Homes Article
We are now working on the second Reserved Matters Application for a further 354 dwellings which will be submitted later this year.
