New apartments coming to Maidstone

Following their appointment as main contractor, Skillcrown have appointed gdm architects to continue design work on two residential projects in Granville Road, Maidstone.

The scheme will be constructed on behalf of Maidstone Borough Council, who are working toward an ambitious target of 1,000 new affordable homes in the Borough. The sites currently house vacant light industrial units and hard standing, which once demolished will provide the space for a total of 40 affordable apartments.

gdm architects initial planning designs were conceived for local private developers, both of whom decided to sell. We were delighted to play a small part in this by introducing one of the developers to MBC after learning of their ambition to self-generate units locally.
